Welcome to Borrowdale in England's magnificent Lake District
Chapel Field is set in the heart of the Borrowdale Valley, where
the Cumbria Way crosses the Coast-to-Coast walk, with wonderful
views of the surrounding fells. With two lovely bedrooms it
offers very comfortable and relaxing self-catering accommodation for
up to three people and is ideally situated for exploring this
beautiful area.
Whether you are content with low level riverside strolls or are a
more adventurous climber of fells there is an ample choice of walks
just from the doorstep. Derwentwater is 3 miles away and the town
of Keswick with all its visitor attractions is a mere 6½ miles.
There is a general store, two pubs and other restaurants within easy
walking distance.

Without needing to use a car or bus (but if you need it, the stop
is just outside our gate) there is a myriad of beautiful walks in
all directions, from the easiest riverside stroll to the most
strenuous hike you could wish for. Nearby fells include
Glaramara, Great Gable and High Spy. Scafell Pike and the
Langdale Pikes are possibilities for the strong walker and a short
drive over the Honister Pass will take you to Buttermere and fells
such as Wainwright's favourites of Haystacks and Pillar.
Wildlife lovers will be thrilled to know we regularly see red
squirrels, rabbits and a fascinating variety of birds in the garden.
Other mammals also seen recently include badgers, deer and otters
down by the nearby River Derwent
