About us
We are Mary & Tony Walvish.
We stayed in Chapelfield Cottage on our honeymoon in 1999 and
instantly fell in love with Borrowdale and with the cottage,
returning as often as we could take time off work. We decided
we should re-locate to the Lake District and looked at a number of
properties but none of them compared favourably with Chapel Field
and we said to the then owners that if they would ever consider
selling they should contact us.
Tony is a semi-retired dentist, working part-time in Penrith and travelling south alternate weekends, while Mary is a lawyer in the City of London, commuting north alternate weekends. Hopefully this fractured lifestyle will not continue for much longer.
When we're not working we love to be walking the fells and valleys of Lakeland, pottering in our garden or allotment, enjoying good food and drink or listening to good music.
